About Me

Liz Shaw, Elizabeth Shaw, Pilates Instructor at Pilates Training Solutions Horsley

Hi I am Liz and I was diagnosed with hyper lordosis following my first pregnancy in 2000. Pilates was recommended by my osteopath to support my lower back issues. Pilates has significantly improved my posture over the last 20 years and eliminated any lower back pain that I began to experience following my pregnancies. This led me to train as a Level 3 Mat teacher.

I teach group sessions in West Horsley, Stoke D'Abernon and also Fetcham and Horsley for other Pilates teachers. In the past I have taught antenatal Pilates for BusyLizzy and was a Pilates instructor at Send prison.

Being a qualified Pilates instructor means that I have completed specialised training and a certification programme. I have an understanding of Pilates principles, exercises and techniques, have studied level 3 anatomy and physiology and I prioritize safety, provide clear instructions and guidance to clients during private sessions to support flexibility and prevent injuries. As well as being Anatomy and Physiology qualified,  I have also completed specialist prenatal and postnatal training, have a Level 2 Exercise, fitness  and health qualification. I am a qualified first aider and can provide immediate medical assistance in situations such as injuries or medical emergencies. I am fully insured and I ensure that all clients complete medical questionnaires in advance of pursuing a programme. I am also a level 1 qualified tennis coach and have a full DBS certificate.

Pilates can help support a wide range of conditions and improve flexibility. However on occasions if the condition is too severe or complex it may be that I am unable to provide support. I may request you gain further advice from a medical professional if you have a severe condition.

My priority is to ensure safe and effective exercise.
